Grundfos FM/UL Fire Sets

Grundfos FM/UL Fire Sets

When you think of manufacturers and suppliers of fire sets, the Grundfos name may not be the first name which sprang to mind, however today Grundfos offer the world’s largest approved range of fire pumps and can provide a wide range of packaged and containerised systems that meet with NFPA, UL, FM standards as well as local LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) certification. This means that Grundfos are the ideal partners to work with you to deliver a complete ‘one stop shop’ for fire pump solutions.

Within the UK, each building is given a designation that is defined by a number of criteria and given a hazard category. There are three of these (for LPCB systems) – light hazard, ordinary hazard and high hazard. These are dependant on the combustibility rate of the items within the building (for instance, a high combustibility would be considered a ‘High Hazard’.

Correct commissioning is always important, but for fire systems this is particularly so. It is vital that commissioning is undertaken by properly qualified personnel who will carry out a full range of tests to ensure that the set is fully compliant and meets specification.

Factory Mutual (FM) and/or Underwriting Laboratories (UL) pumps are used within sprinkler installations to protect a wide range of properties from the effects of fire. There is a vast range of products available for individual property installation requirements. Units are available compliant to the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA20) requirements and annexes, with further approvals to either Factory Mutual (FM) Datasheets or listed in the Underwriting Laboratories (UL).
