Grundfos Pumps develop water solutions for the world. They set the standard in terms of innovation, efficiency, reliability and sustainability. They are a pump company connecting with millions and millions of people every day. Their solutions help customers move water to where it is supposed to go. Providing drinking water for the smallest villages to the highest skyscrapers.
When you think of manufacturers and suppliers of fire sets, the Grundfos name may not be the first name which sprang to mind, however today Grundfos offer the world’s largest approved range of fire pumps and can provide a wide range of packaged and containerised systems that meet with NFPA, UL, FM standards as well as local LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) certification. This means that Grundfos are the ideal partners to work with you to deliver a complete ‘one stop shop’ for fire pump solutions.
Within the UK, each building is given a designation that is defined by a number of criteria and given a hazard category. There are three of these (for LPCB systems) – light hazard, ordinary hazard and high hazard. These are dependant on the combustibility rate of the items within the building (for instance, a high combustibility would be considered a ‘High Hazard’.
Correct commissioning is always important, but for fire systems this is particularly so. It is vital that commissioning is undertaken by properly qualified personnel who will carry out a full range of tests to ensure that the set is fully compliant and meets specification.
Factory Mutual (FM) and/or Underwriting Laboratories (UL) pumps are used within sprinkler installations to protect a wide range of properties from the effects of fire. There is a vast range of products available for individual property installation requirements. Units are available compliant to the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA20) requirements and annexes, with further approvals to either Factory Mutual (FM) Datasheets or listed in the Underwriting Laboratories (UL).
The SQFlex family is an environmental friendly water supply solution. SQFlex uses a permanent magnet motor which enables an efficient use of the natural energy. The pump system offers the perfect water supply solution in remote areas where water is scarce and the power supply is non-existent or unreliable.
The SQFlex systems are suitable for applications in for remote locations:
SQE-NE pumps are submersible well pumps for 3-inch and larger wells. The SQE-NE is designed using materials that are resistant to chemicals and pollutants so that they are suitable for Environmental applications. SQE-NE pumps include innovative motor technology with the ability to communicate with a controller mounted at the surface to control pump operation.
The pumps are suitable for the following applications
SP-NE Specially designed for environmental protection, the submersible SP Environmental pumps (SPA-NE, SP-NE) are resistant to chemical and oily solutions in water.
The pumps are built for the withdrawal of contaminated/polluted groundwater from places such as;
The Grundfos SP range of submersible pumps is renowned for high efficiency and reliability. Made entirely of corrosion resistant stainless steel, the SP pumps are ideal for a wide variety of applications.
The Grundfos SP pumps represent state-of-the-art hydraulic design. Built to deliver optimum efficiency during periods of high demand, the SP pumps provide low long-term costs and high operating reliability regardless of the application. The Grundfos SP range offers high efficiency, high resistance to sand and other abrasives, motor burnout protection, and easy maintenance. A complete monitoring and control system is available for constant optimisation of the pumping system.
