FG Wilson Investor Solutions Package CoGeneration Systems are specifically matched to our range of Perkins Spark Ignited Gas Engine Driven Generatoring sets. The Packages reflect our experience in supplying more than 2000 gas units for CoGeneration installations worldwide. There are a number of ways to achieve efficient heat recovery and energy efficiency - in your own markets you may see alternatives. To help you meet the requirements of specific User applications, we split our recommended CoGeneration package into 3 basic components: ELEMENT 1 - Power (the Generator) ELEMENT 2 - Heat (the Heat Recovery Unit) and ELEMENT 3 - Remote Radiator cooling system.

You will be aware that FGW Investor Solutions have produced Gas Generating sets for a number of years - see latest GAS SOL Price List. These basic generator packages use an ElectroUnit engine build which by using the engine driven coolant pumps and thermovalves is suitable for a close coupled radiator, or heat exchanger with secondary cooling. Our CoGeneration Packages use the same basic engine but of CoGen build, thus allowing the possibility to instal enhanced cooling systems. Our Heat Recovery Module should be installed in parallel with the normal cooling and exhaust arrangements -SIMPLICITY and FLEXIBILITY allowing the User the opportunity to complete the CoGeneration Package at a later date..

Element 1

The FG Wilson Investor Solutions CoGeneration Package range is identical to our "standard" GAS SOL offerings, but use CoGen build engines instead of ElectroUnit. This allows the Installer some flexibility in the cooling arrangements and enables us to offer simple, non complex heat recovery, now or later as Users require. Coolant pumps and pipework are site and application specific, and may therefore initially, be excluded from our scope. The generator control system can be extended to monitor and control the Heat Recovery Module - contact Power Solutions.

Element 2

FG Wilson Investor Solutions can offer free standing Package Heat Recovery Modules - each unit comprises a skid mounted Jacket Water (JW) plate heat exchanger and Exhaust Gas tubular heat exchanger with interconnecting User water pipework between the exchangers. Pipework between the engine and Heat Recovery Module will incorporate remote temperature monitoring devices and controls with PLC, to assist primary engine protection by ensuring optimum cooling water return temperatures and balancing between Elements 2 & 3.

Element 3

FG Wilson Power Solutions can offer Remote Radiator packages to complete the generator cooling circuit. The Heat Recovery Module and Remote Radiator are installed as parallel systems. By incorporation of divert and mixing valves and constant monitoring the engine will be properly cooled under all User heat load conditions. Our preferred system requires that the Charge Air Cooling Water (CACW) is always passed through the radiator. Use RCFORM1 to tell us what type of radiator is preferred, especially in low noise applications.
