Electrical submersible borehole pumps manufactured by Caprari are the pumps we routinely use on our own dewatering contracts and we are now able to supply these pumps at very preferential rates to water well drilling contractors. On the performance curves head and flow rates are clearly displayed together with the price.

If you let us know what length of cable is required together with the power source (240v or 415 v) you have on site we can come up with a total price for you.
We can also supply the other components required , starting capacitor for single phase applications riser pipe either MDPE or Sure-Loc together with well heads pressure switches and of course the well liners.
Please telephone or email for a total delivered price and availability.
A range of pumping equipment is available from Stuart Well Services to allow efficient sampling of groundwater.
For shallow wells, up to 30 metres in depth, two options are available: Disposable Bailers and Whale Purging Pumps. For wells greater than 30 metres deep, electrical submersible pumps the Grundfos Mp1 is more suitable.
These simple bailers are inexpensive and will obtain water samples from almost any depth. A sample of water is collected within the bailer lowered from ground level. When full, a ball valve seals the bailer allowing the water sample to be removed. Depth of sampling is only limited by the length of string.
They are available in 40mm diameter and 18mm diameter sizes and are manufactured from high-density polyethylene.
Whale Purging Pumps provide an easy to use economical solution for sampling wells to a depth of 27 metres. The diameter of the pump is 40mm and is ideal for use in larger monitoring wells.
The pumps are powered by a 12-volt DC power supply (car battery) and come complete with power leads with alligator clips. Three versions are available - the Whale Mini Purger, which will obtain samples from 9 metres below ground level and the Whale Super Purger for wells up to 18 metres in depths, whilst the Mega Purger is 27 metres below ground level.
Key Features Include:
When ground water levels exceed 20 metres the Grundfos MP1 Pump is particularly suitable.
The pump requires a borehole diameter of a minimum of 50mm and is run via an adjustable frequency inverter, BM1/MP1, in the 50 to 400 Hz frequency range.
This gives the pump a rated performance of 1m3/hour at 74 metre head.
For more information on MP1 pumps, please contact Stuart Well Services.
The MP1 is an integral motor/pump unit made of inert materials. The pumped liquid will only be in contact with stainless steel and teflon.
It is a two-stage centrifugal pump with radial impellers. The pump chambers are kept in place by a screwed-on housing with connecting thread (Rp 3/4). Into the connecting thread can be fitted a riser pipe, compression coupling for flexible hose or possibly a holder for fastening of straining wire.
The suction interconnector connecting motor and pump is equipped with a strainer preventing large particles from entering and blocking the pump.
The motor has a built-in thermal switch, which will turn off the motor if the temperature exceeds the maximum permissible temperature. The motor is filled with demineralised water for lubrication of bearings and cooling of rotor. The bearings are ceramic and tungsten carbide - this combination of materials gives increased resistance to wear and extended working life.
The cable connecting the motor and the converter is fitted on delivery. The cable is available in several lengths so that cable joints can be avoided.
Applications: Water quality monitoring in borehole ground water, in-fill sites, chemical waste dumps etc. (for permanent installation or portable use).
Duty range: Variable performance via frequency converter with soft start 50-400 Hz Rated performance of 1m³h at 75m head.
Temperature range: 0°C to +35°C liquid 0°C to +40°C ambient.
Connections: ¾" BSPF Female (for minimum 50mm/2" borehole).
The BMI/MP1 converter, which has been specially made for Grundfos, is a frequency converter for power supply and speed control of Grundfos Monitor Pump MP1. The BMI/MP1 enables continuously variable frequency adjustment corresponding to a speed of the MP1 ranging from approximately 2,800 to 23,000 rpm.
The converter has a built-in motor protection for the MP1 pump and therefore no further overload or short circuit protection of the pump is required. The small outer dimensions and low weight of the converter make it especially suitable for being transported from job to job. Before start-up the converter just has to be connected to a 1 x 220-240 V, 50 Hz electricity supply either from a transportable generator or from an ordinary single-phase household installation.
Prior to sampling the well must be purged. By using MP1 the time consumption for this can be reduced considerably compared to other methods as a high pump performance is achieved when the frequency is raised. When the water sample is taken the pump performance can be lowered by means of the frequency converter. It is therefore unnecessary to fit a valve for performance adjustment. Through adjustment of the frequency a steady water flow with minimum risk of degassing is achieved.
In order to avoid cross-contamination, dedicated installation of the pump is recommended. This will save valuable time for the sampling technician as he can quickly disconnect the converter and proceed to the next MP1 installation. However, it is acceptable to use the same MP1 in several wells as lowering and lifting of the pump is quick and easy.
In these cases the pump can be easily dismantled and cleaned or fitted with pre-cleaned parts from service kits.
